ILIGAN CITY (03-04 September 2026) – In a continuing effort to modernize civil registration services and make the processing of corrections more efficient and responsive, the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) – Lanao del Norte provided technical expertise during the Provincial Training on the Administrative Petition for Correction Automated System (APCAS), hosted by the Samahan ng mga Rehistrador Sibil ng Lanao del Norte (SARSILA).
The PSA – Lanao del Norte personnel served as resource speakers during the training, equipping Local Civil Registrars and registration personnel with the knowledge and practical skills needed for the proper processing and handling of administrative petitions for correction of entries in civil registry documents.
The Administrative Petition for Correction Automated System (APCAS) is a digital system designed to automate and streamline the processing of administrative petitions for corrections allowed under existing civil registration laws, rules, and regulations. The system supports a more standardized, efficient, and reliable processing of petitions and forms part of PSA's continuing digital transformation initiatives in civil registration.
The training covered APCAS procedures, documentary requirements, system processes, and the proper utilization of the system. It also provided a venue for participants to clarify operational concerns, share experiences, and promote consistent implementation of administrative correction procedures among Local Civil Registry Offices (LCROs) across Lanao del Norte.
The activity was made possible
through the initiative and support of SARSILA, demonstrating the value
of collaboration between the PSA and local civil registrars in
strengthening civil registration services in the province. (PSA Press Release; Written and Edited by Jun Enriquez, Digital-Mobile Journalist)
